Ardenwald-Johnson Creek

Ardenwald-Johnson Creek occupies a unique jurisdictional position: it straddles the border between Portland (Multnomah County) and Milwaukie (Clackamas County), running from Crystal Springs Blvd in the west to 42nd St in Milwaukie to the east, from the Union Pacific tracks along McLoughlin Blvd to the south to Harrison and King roads in Milwaukie to the north. The neighborhood association serves residents in both cities.

The defining natural feature is Tideman Johnson Natural Area — a wildlife corridor in the Portland portion of the neighborhood where Johnson Creek flows through a forested riparian zone. The area supports beavers, coyotes, dozens of bird species including occasional bald eagles, and is the site of an active salmon and steelhead recovery program by the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services.

Commercially, Ardenwald-Johnson Creek is light. Milwaukie Cafe & Bottle Shop at 9401 SE 32nd Ave (corner of SE 32nd Ave and SE Olsen St) serves as a community gathering point — it hosts the neighborhood association's monthly meetings. The McLoughlin Blvd corridor on the western edge provides transit access and some retail, and Milwaukie's Main Street is a short walk from the Milwaukie portion of the neighborhood.
