had them for years, every time i try to get a loan or help from them its a joke. They want collateral to give you anything and there loan officers suck. Had Onpoint for years and they are far better bank. I am canceling my account soon advise anyone to stay away from this bank unless you like crap services

More reviews on GoogleFifteen years with Rivermark and (especially since the merger) my opinion of them has gone from Cloud 9 to boring, tired tedium. They wear "local" and "community" like a skin suit, but when I call them on the phone I'm speaking to a robot or someone overseas. Why is that? Nothing says "local" like "Mumbai, Oregon, PNW." Would I recommend them over a national bank? Of course. Would I recommend them over another local, smaller credit union? ... Probably not, unless you live really close to a location. (With actual humans, not "virtual tellers.") Final case in point: If there is a reply to this review from them, it will be a nearly copy-pasted, impersonal apology that they've let me down and to call their Customer Care team at [phone.] Bet.
UPDATE: Rivermark charges daily interest on their credit cards. Something I’ve never experienced and I have 6 credit cards. I finally received mine and charged $2000 to it. When I went to pay it off (before the due date) it deducted an amount from my payment; resulting in a remaining balance. I didn’t realize I also had an auto pay on it. So a couple days later (again before the due date) I tried to pay the balance to zero by using the balance on the card and another chunk was deducted from my payment. Leaving a balance still. I called and was told that was interest. I explained I’ve never heard of daily interest on a credit card and the guy had no explanation. So I paid the card off and closed my accounts. Rivermark will milk you and offer nothing in exchange. Absolute worst experiences banking ever. I lost my Advantis credit card and called Rivermark for a replacement. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t received it so I called. After being on hold for 22 minutes twice and being hung up on and 23 minutes once, I realized… their customer service is great until you ask them to do their job. Rivermark moved or removed the member number from the app so you have to answer a bunch of questions in order for them to access your account if you don’t know your member number. I asked if it was my account number like Advantis had it set and they said no. Reps 1 and 2 both just hung up. I wasn’t even being rude, I was just providing info. The third rep sounded very sweet and welcoming until I asked her if she could see when the last time my account was accessed because that would be the day I called to order my card. She then got real snotty and short and after asking me all the questions said “you just have to wait. It can take 2 weeks, some times longer” and when I asked to cancel my credit card because of the lack of respect the girl got bubbly again and was happy to assist. Rivermark is absolute complete garbage and I wish when banks like Advantis sold out, they gave you a list of options for other banks to buy your account. I would have never chosen Rivermark. Based off the reviews, the best thing they could do for me is sell my account to someone else.
I had a fraud alert and had a hell of a time trying to talk to someone I could understand on the phone, many dropped call, transfers to automatic tellers that didn’t have the option I needed. Eventually reached someone I could understand to get a replacement card only to get a call the next day to find that the order hadn’t been placed. It was a mess. An incredibly poor system. Advantis was much better before the merger. There have to be better CUs in the Portland area.
this review is based on their tech department... I understand with new merges things can become difficult and take time.. but your River Mark mobile app really needs some work.. the snapshot rarely works... pending charges disappear and then show up later.. if you mistype your password more than twice, you have to reset it.. on a phone it's kind of hard sometimes when you have chubby fingers to put in that password.. please please do some work on that app. let's get it like the old app! love the bank but hate your technical issues.. thank you.
