Loan department promised me 20k to consolidate my credit card debt and came back with 15k gaslighting me saying it was a good start but turning it into a conversation regarding how the bank is a business and needs to make money rather than help its customers.

The dinosaur bosses hold hostage some nicer younger staff stuck explaining “ well, if your credit score is high enough, and you're not blocked by Chec systems, No...we still will not watch you bring up your electric bill on your phone for same address on your REAL 🪪🆔, we will send you home to get a paper copy.”

This is now my third review of CCU, in only 2 months of working with them. I continue to be completely shocked and appalled by my experiences with this institution. I purchased a vehicle, unfortunately it was financed through CCU. Each month the payment has required days of drama, hours of phone calls and very little customer service from Columbia credit union. I cannot believe how awful the payment experience has been, how poorly this business operates, and how much stress has been invited into my life by merely buying a car and trying to pay for it! This time, I spent hours on the phone again to make the payment. It was both verbally by a CCU staff member on the phone, AND in writing (attached,) confirmed with me that my account is now on auto pay - I (allegedly) will no longer have to deal with all of the drama of trying to pay for this loan, the payment will come out on the 7th each month which allows me plenty of time for my due date on the 12th. Color me surprised when we get an email end of day on the 12th saying that our payment was not made and my credit will be negatively impacted. After 4 hours on the phone and 2 confirmations from CCU themselves saying that the payment was cleared on their end. To say that this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a business is an understatement. I highly regret financing my car at this point and wish I’d gone another route, only because of Columbia credit union. Stay far far away from this scam. I now have to spend yet another day on the phone dealing with this, sending emails, and writing a review- this place should be paying me a salary at this point for how much leg work I have to do for their jobs to get done. I would absolutely not risk this again.

I am now on my second month of needing to make car payments to this financial institution, and it is also my second month having to spend multiple days and hours on the phone in order to do so. My payment is due today and I continue to have absolutely no accessibility to just login and make the damn payment. I have been trying for three days now. It’s the day before a holiday and while I’d like to be wrapping up work and getting ready for a trip, I am instead wrestling with this company’s website and poor customer service to make my car payment. Very very frustrating. I am pretty livid that this has been my experience, and my time is being wasted so carelessly, so I will continue to post reviews here as this happens and tell people to run FAR and fast from this credit union!

I just financed a car and it unfortunately went through columbia credit union. I am having a horrible experience trying to make the payment. I have been trying to do so for over a week, I have made half a dozen phone calls, not one helpful. My payment is now due tomorrow and I am fearful that my payment won't be on time due to this horrible user experience that is Columbia CU's website and customer service. I am incredibly angry and under a lot of stress because of this experience- I highly recommend never working with this company.
