I went for happy hour with a friend who raves about the gnocchi. There was only 1 other person in the place when we arrived a little after 4p but the server (Allison) seemed less than happy to see us. We were waved in and told sit anywhere. We ordered $14 HH Manhattans which were huge (and $3 off the regular menu price). I ordered a HH cesar salad (tiny) and the famous gnocchi. My friend ordered a salad from the regular menu which was like 2X the size for only 2 bucks more (kind of annoying, HH salad worth about 8 bucks) Anyway, I’m a slow drinker and was still nursing the manhattan when the pasta came. Not wanting bourbon with my gnocchi I ordered a glass of white wine. (This is where it gets weird), server says “well are you going to finish your drink???” Me: uh… I think so…. Server: “well…” (insert some long convoluted story about it being illegal to serve me a second drink) HUH?!! Being a lawyer (and former waitress) I was compelled to look it up. Surprise, no such law exists. I kindly inform her. She says she “just took the class” … “2 years ago” 🙄 She then mentions “stacking drinks” and it dawns on me that she assumed I was trying to get another drink for the HH price rather than assuming I just wanted wine with dinner. It was all weird and I tell her calmly that the experience made me uncomfortable. She apologized and to her credit, comps one of the drinks. As I reflect on the experience, I note that her generally unwelcome attitude toward me was strikingly different to her demeanor toward other diners. Piecing it together, I can only surmise that perhaps one of my personal characteristics or attributes influenced her actions since I was the only person who looked like me in the establishment. Or maybe something about me triggered a bad memory for her. I sincerely hope Allison’s day improved. Regardless, since I hate being treated differently than the crowd I won’t soon return to this restaurant - The food was pretty good though. Cheers!

The atmosphere at Zinc feels warm and homey. My friends and I sampled Beet and Burgatta Salad, Tortellini, and Short Rib Ragu. All were delicious! Our server was attentive and friendly. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and colleagues.

I chose to have my birthday dinner at Zinc because my first experience there was excellent. On the second visit, they still didn’t disappoint. Alison was our server on both occasions and we were happy to see her again. She was attentive and friendly and even sent the owner by to see us for our repeat business. The reason I chose Zinc for my birthday dinner were the pork chop and the chocolate mousse with cinnamon meringue. On the second occasion they were even better than I had remembered. Even had we not had our favorite items, we would have raved about the place anyway. The steak, carrots, broccolini, bread, and cappuccino were all perfectly executed and totally worth the 5 star review as well. We will definitely be back soon. Sorry for the lack of photos… I was too busy enjoying the amazing experience!

Delicious for the most part 😊 The Ceasar salad, oysters and clams w/ fresh baked bread were my favorite, paired with a nice crisp class of wine. Zinc does a great job with their seafood and sauces. That part was fantastic. I tried the bolognese pasta and found the pasta to be a bit too chewy and the sauce to be on the sweeter side. It was a little strange for me personally and I wouldn’t recommend that particular pasta to anyone. I will definitely be back and I picked out my top favorite items so I know what to order when I go there from now on. I just moved to the neighborhood I’m happy to find a place that serves things like oysters and shrimp. Cocktails and crème brûlée. By the way, the crème brûlée was average. The Kahlúa dessert that my daughter got was kind of messy and I only took one bite. I didn’t like it very much. I spent about $90 easily just on myself even though we went for happy hour lol.

Professional, attentive, friendly staff. We had several shared plates and each one was delicious! The presentation was just lovely. The atmosphere is upscale relaxed. Totally worth it if you would like a lovely evening out.
