We recently purchased a pair of PSB T-65 speakers from Stereotypes. The audition, with Rich, was super, with plenty of attention to our application and wants. The listening room experience was wonderful. When we decided to purchase, and put down a deposit, Stereotypes found out that delivery date was very uncertain. They offered several generous options to handle the problem. We felt very well taken care of through out the process.

I purchased a pair of NAD Viso HP70 headphones described as working open box/demo. The item I received does not charge, does not power on, and none of the active features (Bluetooth, noise cancelling) work. Only passive mode with a cable works. This was not stated in the listing. The headband is also very loose and unstable. This item is defective and not as described. I contacted the seller, but they refused to take responsibility. Luckily eBay solved it for me. When I wrote a review they tried to remove my review and stated that I “abused my privilege”. So I am happy to write you once again.

Stereotypes has a fantastic selection of mid range and high end audio products, and provide really good service. There are several stereo electronics stores in Portland that cater to the audiophile, but none are as pleasant to deal with as Stereotypes. Just picked up a Rega P3 turntable to upgrade my system, and while I could have spent a lot more, Andy & Rich listened to what I was looking for and provided honest recommendations. I will certainly go back again for my next piece of audio equipment.

I have a new favorite Hi-Fi shop and it's Stereotypes. I bought the Rega Planar 10 (a $7000 turntable) from them over the phone and, boy, did they take care of me. Rich and his crew answered my questions, kept me informed on the status of the turntable and I received it in Seattle the day after they got it. They did a beautiful job setting the turntable up and I could not be happier. These guys rock!! I'll be back.
