Outstanding and highly recommended for the following reasons: 1). Small group instruction (generally 2-4 in attendance), 2). Patient, skilled, professional staff with instruction continuity from session-to-session, 3). Personalized attention; devoted to every student's progress, 4). Locally owned with the owner on-site and available 5). Very reasonably priced 6). "Guided Practice" sessions available between classes. As an absolute beginner guitarist, I used this class sequence: 1). "Guitar Fundamentals"; assumes no prior knowledge, 2). "Singer Songwriter"; teaches simple songs of progressive difficulty, 3). "Music Theory"; while not necessary for learning to play the guitar (they use the "tab" system instead of formal musical notation), it's a useful compliment to basic instruction and provides the basis for more advanced learning. There are numerous specialty classes which I am unfamiliar with but expect to eventually attend as my skills advance. In summary: if you're interested in learning guitar, very seriously consider Rose City for instruction.
