Phil and Alex were great to work with. Got me in quickly, diagnosed the issues quickly, received a very reasonable estimate, completed the work quickly, and got me back on the road in a day. What more could you ask for. Top notch. I'll be coming back for sure.

Reviews from Google
More reviews on GoogleI wrote a review 6 years ago, but that was THREE CARS AGO; so I wanted to update my comments because Phil and his team continue to provide great service to me every time I buy a "new" collector car. Most mechanics don't want to work on "classic" vehicles, but Phil has always helped me with all of them when I need something fixed or improved. Recently he replaced the harmonic balancer and got the air conditioner working in my 1966 Mustang convertible. Now I'm ready for "summer crusing".
the emperor’s new clothes. or phil’s auto clinic. you might be looking at the glowing reviews for this place and wondering why there’s a review that isn’t stumbling over their words to heap praise upon the automotive jesus. or maybe, like me, you had a relative/friend recommend phil’s auto clinic because he’s the best. but i am going to tell you what no one else will or even realizes. phil’s a mediocre mechanic who is decent at best with oil changes and tire rotations. when it comes to actually turning a wrench or torque specs.. he’s great at doing 75% of the job, charging 100%, and taking 150% of the time. if you get a call to let you know what you can expect to pay before they do the work, lucky you. if you get your car back without several quarts of oil extra in your engine, get a lottery ticket. my last experience with phil shook me with a profound realization. everyone who has gushed about phil’s work is just parroting the same thing they heard from the person who recommended them to phil. see, i have been going to phil for 20 years and every time i have been disappointed. not a huge disappointment, just little things and slightly bigger things, but i never felt like i got what i paid for. but i keep going. and when my dad says that phil is a great mechanic, i agree even though i don’t feel like he is. why? it’s such a basic human thing. i didn’t believe my lying eyes because so many people were saying the opposite of what i was experiencing. i must be wrong. well.. that stops now. i see that naked emperor. his clothes suck. the front desk guy is incompetent or just doesn’t care. either way it’s unacceptable. to pay $55 for coolant just to get my car back with no heat is unacceptable. to call in and get told what kind of coolant to buy so i can finish the job i paid for myself is unacceptable. the monotone single word response to my concern about it.. “sorry” is unacceptable. $55 i paid for coolant that was itemized on my bill, just to be told i need to buy what i already bought is just gross. i dont know how i would be able to tell someone to do what i should have done without feeling slimy. but to each their own. your mileage may vary. mechanics are hard to come by and phil isn’t totally incompetent. i’m just done pretending that i don’t see the problems. i’m going to be looking for someone else.
Been going to Phil's for over 5 years now. Head mechanic, "Alex", is great. Always very helpful. We've received terrific service over the years and are grateful a friend recommended them. Would highly recommend them as well. :)
I broke down on I-5 on a Saturday morning. My insurance covered a tow to a place within ten miles. I live in Salem so I rolled the dice and went with a shop I knew nothing about (Phil’s). I crossed my fingers and left my car there. I ended up needing a couple parts including replacement of my head gasket. I was in a tight spot and they could have easily taken advantage of me but didn’t. They charged a very fair price. If I lived in the area, this would be my new go to auto shop. Thank you for getting me back on the road!
