I’ve used Mac’s twice and each time they have gotten it right. My grandpa knew about their great reputation and referred me. They are knowledgeable, thorough, & clear in their communication. They even went above and beyond to look up past work done on my truck and encouraged me to reach back out to the shop who did it previously (I was still under mileage warranty for the belts) to fix it instead of paying (Mac’s) to do it again Highly recommend James at the desk is the best

Initially I was happy with the service. I had a radiator rebuilt for a industrial lift in august of 2022. It was not cheap I spent over 1500 to get it rebuilt. This machine is used infrequently and has maybe 100 hours on it since the rebuilt. Over the past few months I have started to see leaks appearing on the radiator and drips of collant. I mean I guess its hard to buy quality these days, but this I was not expecting with so few hours on it after the repair. It is technically outside the 2 year warranty, but you know you just expect things to last a little longer than 100 hours of use.

James and Patrick were very personable and knowledgeable guys. They were able to help me resolve my check engine light issue and help pass my emissions test for registration renewal. They have fair prices and I always prefer supporting local over big company names. Thanks to you both for your support and quick turnaround! Will definitely come Back if I have any issues in the future and would highly recommend.

Deal with Patrick and you will just have to settle for perfect. Everyone at Macs in Portland does a great job. Macs installed a 4 speed transmission in my 1976 Scout, they installed a new clutch and had the flywheel turned. Came in just under their estimate........ my old truck drives like a dream.

My 2009 Subaru Legacy 3.0R had the oem plastic radiator fail. The transmission cooler inlet on the radiator was dry rotten and cracked. The radiator ended up being filled with atf while I was driving. I quickly pulled over and got a tow home. I didn't want to put another plastic radiator in the car again just to have the issue again in the future. I did happen to have an aluminum radiator for a wrx. The radiator fit just fine, problem was the ez30 had dual radiator inlets at the top. (One comes from each cylinder head) Whereas the aluminum radiator only has one inlet at the top for the ej25 style engines. My father informed me of Macs Automotive & Radiator. They constructed a triple pass radiator for his 23t bucket drag car. He has ran that very same radiator for years now without issue. I went ahead and gave them a call because I needed my daily driver back ASAP. Justin was absolutely fantastic, he listened and brain stormed with me about solutions to prevent this issue from happening again. I took both the OEM ez30 radiator aswell as the aluminum radiator to Justin. The welder and Justin planned out a modification to the aluminum radiator by removing the large inlet and adding two smaller inlets to match the styling of the oem plastic one. They asked if I approved and gave me an extremely reasonable quote. Once the job was completed, Justin promptly called me and informed me it was complete. When I arrived the welder and Justin brought out the completed radiator. The radiator was near perfect, the welder went ahead and fixed up a few issues with the passenger side fan's mount bracket. He also tacked the turbo coolant feed line as I don't need it and I'd have to cap it anyhow. I would highly recommend Macs Automotive & Radiator. The quality of the final product was outstanding. The car is running great, honestly seems happier now with better flow throughout the cooling system. I went ahead and sourced a seperate oil cooler for the 5eat transmission. Justin recommend the size of cooler I'd need for the transmission. Justin was so helpful with getting the project completed. Car was back on the road within an extremely reasonable time period.
