Can’t begin to explain how great these folks are. My kiddo is not a fan of regular after care clubs but she has found her courage and confidence in expressing her creative skills in ways beyond her imagination! Not to mention she’s made new friends and learned from some wonderful humans and talented teachers. As for us the parents, Katie and her amazing staff have been so flexible and accommodating to us when we’re in a pinch! So much love for the Hangout community xxxx

More reviews on GoogleI have nothing but nice things to say. My kids have brought home thoughtful and creative art and I've been surprised how much they've learned about a variety of topics. The staff have been kind, accommodating, and helpful to me and also with my kids. I've felt quite lucky to have found the Hangout PDX.
If Yelp offered the option to give 10 stars, this would be the business that deserves it! We recently hosted an epic slime-themed birthday party for 30 young kids, and I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was incredibly smooth and hassle-free, which is no small feat with that many little ones! The kids had an absolute blast, but what really stood out was Katie. She was an absolute pro—calm, cool, and outrageously helpful throughout the entire event. Her ability to keep things organized while making sure the kids were having the time of their lives was truly impressive. If you're looking for a fun, memorable, and stress-free party experience, I cannot recommend this place enough. Five stars hardly seems sufficient!
Last summer, my twin daughters announced that their favorite activity the whole world was crafts. And that they aspired to become artists. So, we signed them up for The Hangout as an arts-focused afterschool activity. (It’s one of the few programs that picks up from Richmond, where they’re in kindergarten.) Holy smokes… they love it! The teachers are kind, supportive and fun. Many (if not all) are practicing artists, and the way they’ve enhanced my daughters’ approach to art is amazing. They understand space, texture, perspective, process, media, style and much more in ways that I barely comprehend. They’re still passionate about crafts and aspire to be artists. And you know what? The Hangout has really helped them on their creative journey.
What a gift it is for our kiddo to get to be part of The Hangout’s after school program! She loves the rainbow “bus” that she gets picked up in and is so excited to share all she learns in the program. They do incredible projects and introduce art concepts and approaches in an accessible and age-friendly way. The content they cover is inclusive, educational and important. They play games to get their wiggles out and plenty of time to explore their creativity. I love that my kiddo feels safe and cared for while she’s there and the instructors/teachers are all so kind and wonderful! Their no-school day programs are exceptional too and are so helpful for working families. We love the Hangout and highly recommend it to anyone looking for additional care/support for their kiddo(s)!
