Need a birthday gift? Need a new mug? Need a thank you card? Need a baby-shower present? Need some hip Portland collectibles? Need some wall art? Need some funky shaped earrings? Need something small and cute for someone special? This place will have a chokehold on you. In the best way. I cannot walk by this place without walking in and even if I don't buy anything, I leave the shop feeling artistically inspired and oddly in a better mood than before. You can't help but say "Oh, this is so cute!" at least seven times while visiting. It's no wonder it's called Tender Loving Empire because it's filled with TLC. Sigh...

Summary: Give Mandy a raise!! As a newcomer to Portland, I was hesitant about which local spots I should eat, drink, and visit. Mandy, behind the counter, went out of her way to handwrite me a list of all her suggestions with descriptions of each recommendation! She easily provided me with the best customer service I have experienced, regardless of industry or geographical location. She deserves the world. I hope this business realizes how lucky they are to have her as an employee. As long as Mandy works here, I will be a loyal customer forever. -Will

Every time I'm in Portland, I specifically plan a day around shopping around and always have to hit Tinder Loving Empire. This shop is so, so cute and has the perfect mix of local items, home goods, and gifts. You can seriously find a perfect gift for anyone here. Over the years I've picked up cards, prints, magnets, and candles. If you're local or traveling to Portland, add Tender Loving Empire to your list!

Such a lovely store. Their shirts are so soft and really cool Portland or Oregon images. Got a sweatshirt there that is my absolute favorite, light but warm with a cool design. All their local products from lotions to music to woven bags to nail polish are amazing!

Portland's go to last minute gifting spot! There are a lot of shops with more specific gifts, but if you have multiple people to shop for or you want a bigger selection, this is the place since they have everything from art prints to self care items. I prefer this Hawthorne location to the downtown one because it's a little larger and a bit less trafficked.
