Some months ago I left a review that very unkind and had much to do with the management company and the resident manager. As it turns out , gaurdian as well as Lisa really did pull through and ultimately Lisa, i believe got the job done and I am housed. With what I think is every bit of thanks going to Lisa. Going forward, I feel very at home here, I've only met wonderful people . Thank you Sacred Heart

I've been working with office manager, Lisa, since Jan 2025, to get a Project Based Voucher. I've been homeless since Aug 2023 and qualify for VAWA. The 1st process for any voucher is called "compliance". This is thru the State Of Oregon and is a long and arduous process. The only control Lisa has over this is via making sure the applicant is contacted to routinely finish every part, of each step, of the paperwork. Since it's a slow process this leads to even more paperwork as all financial documents have to be updated as the months drag on. And why is this such a long process?? Well it's due to the government being short staffed & loosing senior staff members during the layoffs at the beginning of 2025. I lost count of how many times I had to go back into Sacred Heart Villa to fill out the same paperwork. Each time I told myself I was that much closer to housing. The 2nd step in the process is Home Forward. During 2025 it too has dealt with ALL of the same issues that the State of Oregon has dealt with. The only difference is in Aug of 2025 the federal government forced Home Forward to stop giving out any new housing vouchers. This meant everyone of us yet to be fully thru the HForward process to be left without housing. Which meant the apartments we all had been waiting for were put back up for rent. During this entire time (10 months) Lisa has gone above and beyond to keep me informed of each step, she has stayed late and gone in early for me to be able to stay up to date on all paperwork. She has been honest, kind, professional, & trustworthy. Over all she is a human I am beyond thankful to have in the front office of my next home. Also over the last 10 months the building and the grounds are always fresh and clean. And side note: the Home Forward voucher process long and filled with red tape and loopholes. Which means the apartment one hopes for might not be the one you get at the end of the process .Yes this can be frustrating, yet again the State and Home Forward and Lisa are truly doing all they can to house as many humans as possible. Thankfully if Sacred Heart Villa isn't where you want to live then there are always other places to live. As there are always other humans, like me, who will gladly call Sacred Heart Villa their home sweet home! Oh yeah I am one of those humans who was days away from getting my PBvouch via HForward, in Aug, when the federal government paused all vouchers. I cried for weeks when I found out and got super low in my head. Yet through this all I've never given up hope of living at Sacred Heart because of Lisa. She is the ❤️ of that place!

Getting an affordable senior apartment is always complex because of the laws and rules that govern the process. Everything was handled efficiently by the Sacred Heart staff. No complaints here. The apartment is designed well. The residents are friendly. Looking forward to the next stage of life.

A few days ago I was talking to a friend who hasn't been living here long and she tells me that there are bedbugs in her room and that she has complained several times and the manager doesn't pay attention to the situation and that she can barely talk to her because the manager, she's always in a bad mood or as if she doesn't like the work she's doing. And as if that weren't enough, my friend noted that the manager seems to have various personalities, changing her temperament and attitude several times a day. My friend thinks the manager might be using some kind of antipsychotic drug. There's definitely something wrong with the manager. Anyway, my friend doesn't recommend this place for seniors, and she's moving somewhere else next year as soon as her contract ends.

I have enjoyed living here for the past 2 years. No meals on wheels. Potlucks at holiday time. Ema, social worker, has an office in the community room, 2 days/week. She is energetic and hosts crafts and bingo . I'm glad she is here
