Pearl Audio is an awesome store. First, unlike any other store in Portland, or probably anywhere else, they have a huge stock of very high end equipment in their store. Second, the staff is amazingly helpful. They have extensive knowledge of high end equipment. Once I decided what I wanted to listen to Russ set up auditions of just the equipment I wanted to hear using the same equipment I had at home as the ancillary equipment. He never tried to push me into buying things I didn’t want. He made suggestions of equipment I might like and let me take it home to see what I thought. Also, perhaps just as important, he actually talked me out of buying things I thought I wanted but didn’t really need. I bought a Linn turntable and Russ built it for me. He made several trips to my house to fine tune the turntable, including after hours and on his day off. He then found a buyer for my old turntable. When I bought a pair of Sonus Faber speakers Russ came out to my house and positioned them for me. They also host fun events. We heard the new DCS Varese through top level Nordost cables, Burmester electronics and Magico speakers. Even when we’re not talking about buying stuff it is fun to just hang out with Russ, John and Connor and talk about fine whiskey, cars and stereo equipment in general. Highly recommended.

More reviews on GoogleExcellent customer service! Connor helped me with exactly what I was looking for and had it shipped out in no time. Very helpful and knowledgeable, great audio store!
* I bought a McIntosh AV receiver and amp in 2007 in San Francisco as part of a stereo including B&W 805 speakers and a Sunfire subwoofer. * This system sounded fantastic. * I kept in touch with McIntosh products and developments over the years. * When it came time to upgrade my components, I looked up my local McIntosh distributors in Portland, OR, and Pearl Audio Video came up. * My experience with Conner and Pearl has been FANTASTIC. * Conner worked closely with me to ensure that the sound I got was exactly what I was looking for. * I recommend Conner and Pearl fully and completely - it's great to have them in Portland. Update: * I am currently downsizing my apartment, so I need to downsize my stereo from an AV processor, amp, and 5.1 speakers into an all-in-one system. * Of course, my first call was to Pearl Audio to discuss trading in some of my equipment for an all-in-one system. * Conner, Russ, and everyone at Pearl Audio was fantastic as usual. Conner was able to swap my McIntosh MC205 amp for a McIntosh RS250. * And further above and beyond the call of duty, Conner was able to source me an original McIntosh box for my MX100 so I could ship it to the new owner in Hawaii. * If you love great audio/video equipment and want amazing advice and customer service, Pearl Audio should be your #1 stop.
Went to buy my dream system and sure enough Pearl delivered. I finally did a complete home theater with McIntosh and Bowers and Wilkins. When I thought I knew what I wanted, I finally contacted Pearl and a gentleman named Connor came to my rescue. He made sure I didn’t over buy and made adjustments to make everything perfect…..thank you Pearl and Connor and the team there. Incredible professional service and follow up throughout the whole process. Robert T
Pearl Audio Video leans heavily toward the audio side of the home entertainment spectrum, and they do a spectacular job of it. Pretty much everything they carry is an aspirational brand, - you could most likely be happy with anything in the store. Part of their service oriented business model is hosting informative presentations from manufacturers - a great way to learn what's new. If you're fortunate enough to be able to consider brands like Magnepan, McIntosh, Linn, Sonus Faber, Magico, or Dynaudio, you owe it to yourself to visit the folks at Pearl.
