i came back to Pacific Car Care because another shop quoted me $2000 to fix an engine noise on my Ranger alleging it was caused by the power steering pump. However Pacific’s owner Ken proved to me the noise was actually coming from the water pump, by literally making me listen to it with a stethoscope. Amazing. He also showed me i had a radiator leak and an almost empty radiator fluid tank! Scary. He fixed that complementary. The other shop did not warn me of this at all. The power steering pump was indeed shot and they explained why. The whole diagnosis was complementary and i really appreciated the thoroughness and the explanations, which btw were given with no solicitation on my part. Top notch. I ended up replacing water pump, timing belt, power steering pump+lines for the same $2000 i was quoted for just the power steering stuff. It’s not small change for an old truck so i really appreciated the respect and time they gave me to make me understand what was going on and why the repairs were suggested.

More reviews on GoogleHow much is a kind, reliable, trustworthy and efficient mechanic worth? INVALUABLE. Anytime there is an issue I never have to pause, just bring the car directly in to this shop. Mike, Ken and team are incredible. Knowledgeable, great at explaining things, offer helpful suggestions for the easy fixes and they really know their stuff-- diagnostics are fast because they have a wealth of experience. Highly recommend.
I had some work done on my car back in May. They completely ripped me off and the car wasn’t even fixed. They quoted me at $6k to replace struts. I feel like they took complete advantage because I’m a woman. I took my car to Green Drop and they repaired it for much less and were way more professional. To top it all off, I recently learned that they overfilled my engine oil by quite a bit. When I called to have them fix it, the owner was rude, spoke over me, was condescending, and extremely defensive. I fully expect a defensive response to this review from him, explaining why I’m in the wrong and he’s in the right. Based on other reviews here, I’d say stay away, especially if you’re female or a person of color.
Pacific has been my go-to car repair shop for over 10 years. They are honest, prompt, capable, reliable, professional, friendly, and (I’m not kidding) kind. They have never failed me. And, they never try to stick you with unnecessary additional expensive repairs. When my beloved Outback was in a bad accident, Ken and crew did a wonderful job for an amazingly good price. . I can’t say enough. I’m a loyal customer forever
I am extremely pleased with Pacific Car Care!! This is a business you can trust and rely on for the best care of your automobile. Ken was very helpful in explaining details to me about the maintenance needed for my car. He gave me the facts without all the expensive frills. Rare and honest business!
