The city of Portland should pay this place for running such an iconic dive bar restaurant. You are a tourist or a local out for a night of drinking or a concert and this place always has your back with drinks and great diner food. The place is clean and well run even though it is also supposed to look old and cluttered and funky. Don't come here expecting to feel like the main character, because you are not. Expect competent but brusk service because that is the brand. That is what you are here for. They serve great breakfasts and sandwiches. The bacon is EXCEPTIONAL. It's super delicious and very thick but not overcooked or undercooked and not too salty. Get it with a breakfast, or order it as a side, or get a BLT or get what I got which is their very popular club sandwich. There was a lot going on in the club sandwich but the amazing bacon still stood out and was ample. Get some bacon! There are three big rooms so you can choose your own adventure. On the far right is the most quiet and diner-like. A little more bar action in the center, and a game room on the far left. I actually went for lunch and it was quiet and sedate over on the right hand room. It wasn't a bar scene. I really enjoyed my sandwich! UPDATE: Now I have sort of found my favorite French dip in Portland!
