took a visit to them on February 8th after being sent there by the nearby urgent care. I went in extremely dehydrated, unable to keep anything down or stop throwing up. I had been sick for a week at this point already as well. We had told them we were worried it was pneumonia or worse. I was blue spotted by the time I arrived there, and too weak to stand by the counter to give information. Instead of being brought back within a reasonable time, they left me sitting in the lobby for over three hours while everyone who came after me was assisted first. I tell them THREE times that I am extremely dizzy, my arms and legs are going to sleep, and the entire time I am continously vomitting in their lobby while everyone watches. At one point, they bring back a man who was vaping and dancing in the lobby before me, even though he came over an hour after. When finally treated, they come up with nothing. They tell me it was nothing, give me an IV and some crackers my throat was too raw for, and send me home. Over a week after that I was STILL SICK and had to go to OHSU to get some actual proper medical attention. I was seen very quickly there and taken seriously, where they found the flu, a cold and PNEUMONIA. how do you miss pnuemonia when i specifically asked if i had it??? now, weeks later and im feeling better, i get the bill, which prompted me to write this review. ONE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE DOLLARS!! AFTER INSURANCE! for an IV, some tests they KNEW i did not need according to my symptoms, and a cracker. a $75 pregnancy test when i told them I am both on the birth control implant and tested right before coming. $3 for ONE antinausea pill that did NOT work 😂 this place is a genuine laughable joke that i would only go to if you want a very expensive death

I am absolutely disgusted by the experience I had at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital. I’ve been to many hospitals in my life, but I’ve never encountered such blatant unprofessionalism, disrespect, and lack of compassion from a facility that calls itself “Good Samaritan.” The irony is unreal — there was nothing “good” or “samaritan” about what I went through. Let’s start with the front entrance. The security guard working there was an embarrassment to the hospital. She was literally on her phone having a loud, profanity-filled conversation, while supposedly “working” and interacting with patients. Not only was it inappropriate, it was outright disrespectful. And when I tried to get her attention to ask a question, she snapped at me as if I was interrupting her personal time. Excuse me, but isn’t it her job to assist the people walking through those doors? If Legacy’s idea of “security” is someone swearing into their phone and showing attitude to people in distress, then the management needs a serious wake-up call. She had zero professionalism, zero courtesy, and clearly zero training in how to deal with the public. And unfortunately, it didn’t get better from there. The front desk staff were cold, dismissive, and clearly miserable. No smiles, no empathy, no effort to make patients feel comfortable or cared for — just blank stares and condescending tones. It honestly felt like my presence was a burden to them. I came there in pain and anxiety, worried about my health, and was met with people who acted like they’d rather be anywhere else. Then came the worst part — the nurse and doctor. I have never felt more brushed off by medical professionals in my life. They ran some tests, told me everything came back “normal,” and basically sent me on my way without any explanation for the chest pains I came in with. When I tried to ask follow-up questions about what could be causing my symptoms, I got vague, half-hearted answers — as if they couldn’t get me out of the room fast enough. It felt like they didn’t care whether I walked out of there alive or not. What kind of hospital treats a patient with ongoing chest pain like it’s no big deal? I was looking for answers, reassurance, something — instead, I got condescension, attitude, and total indifference. To them, I was just another number they needed to clear off their shift list. Honestly, if I ever start having heart attack symptoms again, I’d think twice before coming back here. That’s how little faith I have left in this place. I’d rather take my chances elsewhere than deal with the humiliation, neglect, and unprofessional behavior that this hospital apparently thinks is acceptable. Legacy Good Samaritan needs a serious overhaul — starting with the so-called "security" at the door, the front desk staff who desperately need customer service training, and medical staff who actually listen to patients instead of brushing them off like we’re inconveniences. You call yourselves healthcare professionals, but there’s no care in what you do. None. This hospital should be ashamed of itself.

I had surgery today at Good Samaritan. Every single person working at the hospital had a pleasant attitude. Registration was extremely fast. I appreciated being walked back to the surgical waiting area. Mara was my pre-op nurse. She was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. No pain with putting in the IV. She had a great attitude as well. Everyone at the facility was pleasant to be around. Even the bed was abnormally comfortable. Surgery wasn’t fun, but it had nothing to do with the staff. I appreciate how quickly they were able to get me into recovery after the procedure. They called my wife early. This allowed her to grab my scripts (and me) prior to being discharged. Doctor Meyer did a great job, as did Doctor DIsney. 10/10, if you need surgery, go here. Everyone has it together. I’m struggling to find anything critical to address. I didn’t drive, but if I did, it would be nice to have the valet open 30 minute earlier. My check in was at 5:30am, but the valet didn’t open until 6:00am. The staff notified me prior and instructed to park at the medical offices if needed. Overall, everyone did a fantastic job today. The staff deserves to be commended.Amazing service and efficiency without the feeling of being rushed. If I have to schedule another surgery it will be at Legacy Good Samaritan.

I've visited this hospital three times since moving to Portland, in July, 2025. And I can say that they're very committed to hearing patients, making sure you're comfortable, and very focused on finding the cause(s) of your complaint, (reason for going to the hospital). Each time, it has been for very different things, so I've gotten to see how some of the treatment arms work together - and that's probably what I found to be unique to this particular health center. The communication between departments is phenomenal. I really appreciated how little I needed to repeat myself. Instead, as I got handed from triage nurse to ER doctor to etc., I got asked more in depth questions. Which enabled my individual care to be expedited. Which meant I was out before it got dark, or before the pharmacy closed, or before it was morning again. These all being things I've otherwise learned to live without, since coming to Oregon. So, yeah, THANK YOU very very much. And just know that this is now my preferred hospital, whenever that's the situation. 💯

I have spent the last 24 hours in fear of my life while staying at this hospital tomorrow? If I'm lucky enough to wake up, I will be transferred to OHSU(A REAL HOSPITAL)and hopefully I will get to speak to the ACLU about LEGACYS code of conduct and all of the things I have recorded and have had happen to me In the short time that I have stayed here. if you were wise, You would go to any other hospital in fact, I would rather go to a back alley abortion clinic to have my finger readjusted than to Have my fingernails cut at good Sam's in Portland it is an embarrassment of a hospital. It is an embarrassment of an establishment and it is an embarrassing blemish on our great city, I look at it as a blemish, and I will forever look down upon the doctors and people. Who work at this establishment? I hope my followers see this and I hope my followers understand and they follow if only to save a life because honestly, I don't think I'm gonna make it through the night and I don't think it'll be my health that kills me. So that is my review. Thank you.
