A quirky and worthwhile stop. The proprietor is clearly smitten by puppetry. He can regale you with tales of shows he's created, puppets he's built and the community that supports him. Obviously a very talented artist and story-teller. We visited during a Christmas Bazaar/Fundraiser and we found plenty of treasures to buy - happy to support this museum and its goal to keep puppetry alive.

This is a MUST VISIT if you've ever liked any sort of media or entertainment with a puppet in it. I really cannot express how magical it was. The staff was so informative and everyone was so passionate about puppets. They really knew their stuff, and were so welcoming. It seemed like they really enjoyed sharing all the details and stories they could. It's an intimate space that is absolutely jam packed with antique and historic puppets everywhere you look. Everyone there had such a strong drive, and it really made me emotional that there are still corners of the world where people do what we all want: They create. The spirit of everything that humanity is about fills that museum. The museum runs on donations, so while it's technically free, you really should plan on donating to the museum!

Steve is an absolute joy to talk to and a genuine inspiration. He was happy to answer any and all questions I had and he shared so many fun and interesting stories and anecdotes from his 5 decades working in the industry. Truly cannot recommend checking this out if you even have a passive interest in puppeteering, puppet making, costume design, theatre, etc. There are tons of beautiful puppets from all eras and many in progress so you can see how the end result gets made. Such such a lovely friendly character and one of the most interesting conversations I've had in forever.

Stopped in yesterday while visiting a friend and it was truly the highlight of my trip. Steve was so passionate and knowledgeable, and gave us a full, beautiful, and interactive history of puppetry. This place is truly a gem and I will make it a point to visit again when I come back!
