Incredible place! Rented the screening room for my bday. Staff was so nice and helpful! Stereo was amazing! Seats are comfy and so fun to not have people on their phones or talking in a movie. I guess we did some talking, but anyway...great time. Movie selection they have is crazy! They have everything! Also hidden section of some great movie books.
I have visited since the '90s, and while my needs have changed, this place barely has. It's got only about another year left in the original location, and I'm grateful to Hollywood video for moving it instead of getting rid of it entirely, but if you want to visit it in original form, go now! It's basically like visiting a movie museum for free. And while you're at it you can pick up a movie that you can't find on the streaming services.
Get ready to walk into the past for a stroll through memory lane! The last standing movie rental house in Portland has old and new releases for all the cenafiles in your life that can't find that one movie that is on none of the streaming services. If you want to see your favorite film in a big screen rent out their private viewing room for a sizable group with popcorn, beverages and snacks at the ready.
There's something extremely nostalgic about visiting a video store in 2025. It honestly just takes me back to the good old days when my family would go and we'd all debate on what movie we get or sometimes my parents would let all of us get a movie. The concession stand with popcorn, beer, snacks and other things. It's just awesome! It's all priced affordably it really makes the experience complete. The people working behind the counter are always knowledgeable, friendly, and are willing to help find a movie that you're looking for. I love the fact that they have the academy section where you can just see who won the academy award for best picture and just grab the movie right there. This is truly a special part of Portland that I hope never goes away and from what I've seen when I've been there I don't think it will. Rock on Movie Madness.
Cool little spot for movie lovers. Absolutely loved walking into the smell of fresh popcorn, it definitely makes me want to stock up on DVD rentals for a movie night at home. I came in to do a quick tour of the movie props exhibit, and was pleasantly surprised by the in-store theater! Will definitely be back for a weekday viewing.
